How quickly does the FreeStyle Lite system analyze blood glucose results?

Readings will be displayed in an average of five seconds.

How do I set the Time?

To enter "Set-Up Mode," start with the meter in clock mode and no test strip inserted. Press and firmly hold the "m" button until the SET display screen appears. To move through the set-up screens, press the "m" button until you reach the Time screen.

With the hour blinking, press the "c" button until the correct hour appears. If using the 12-hour time format, the display will only indicate "P".

Then press the "m" button to bring up the blinking "MINUTE" display screen. With the minute blinking, press the "c" button until the correct minute appears.

Then press the "m" button to bring up the blinking time format (12 or 24 hour) setting. With the time format blinking, press the "c" button until the correct time format appears.

To exit "Set-Up" Mode, press and hold the "m" button until the meter turns off and returns to the clock mode.

How do I set the Date?

With the "MONTH" display screen blinking, press the "c" button until the correct month appears. Then press the "m" button to move to the "DAY" setting. With the day blinking, press the "c" button until the correct day appears. Then press the "m" button to move to the "YEAR" setting. With the year blinking, press the "c" button until the correct year appears.

Then press the "m" button to move the date format (m-d or d-m) setting. With the date format blinking, press the "c" button until the correct date format appears.

To exit "Set-Up" Mode, press and hold the "m" button until the meter turns off and returns to the clock mode.

What kind of batteries does the FreeStyle Lite meter use?

The FreeStyle  Lite meter uses what are commonly referred to as CR2032 "coin cell" batteries. It is designed to use 2 of these coin cell batteries, which are commonly available at grocery stores, drugstores, and electronics retailers.

How many alarms are built into the FreeStyle Lite meter?

There are four optional daily, programmable alarms in the FreeStyle Lite meter. They are designed to turn on daily. There are three sound settings for each alarm — off, low and high. To turn an alarm off, set the alarm sound to "Off".

Can I erase test results from the memory of the FreeStyle Lite meter?

It is not possible to erase or delete test results stored in the memory of the meter, as these results are important to health care providers in evaluation and treatment. The test results will eventually "roll out" of the memory, in the order that they were entered, once the meter has reached its capacity of 400 readings.

Does the FreeStyle Lite system require its own special test strips?

No, the FreeStyle Lite  system uses the same standard FreeStyle Lite ® test strips as the FreeStyle Freedom Lite ® blood glucose monitoring system.

How small is the FreeStyle Lite meter?

The FreeStyle Lite meter is Canada's smallest blood glucose meter available. It weighs just 1.4 ounces, and is 3 inches high (end-to-end), 1.6 inches wide, and 0.8 inches thick.

No, the FreeStyle Lite system uses the same lancets as the FreeStyle system and the FreeStyle Freedom Lite system.

Can I do data management if I use a FreeStyle Lite system?

Yes, the meter has a data port that enables you to download your blood glucose test results to a PC using a data cable and a compatible data management system.
